Arrived at Camp Oravec along with a number of others. Aunt Margaret and Uncle Jeff where there from England (hey Jeff, I didn't get my hot sauce), and it was great to see them.
Had a very busy and eventful week. We had planned an 80th birthday party for mom and we spent a number of days getting ready for that. It was held in the Joanies' back yard facing Lake Huron. Invitations went out to all, with an open invitation in the local newspaper. There was an open bar, 2-piece band, pictures taken of all that arrived, a young girl doing a concert performance. Quite the party. I saw a lot of people I hadn't seen in years.
After the afternoon party, there was an evening party, where things got revved up a bit. I sat in with Al and the Dean (the band) and we had fun. 'What about Bob' was the rallying cry. A good time was had by all, including John G.
Lots of people here: Mom, Joanie and John, Sue and Brian, Jan and Robin, Sean, Alex, John jr and Robert, Sue, Rappi and Vivian, Aunt Margaret and Uncle Jeff. We all had dinner together every night for the whole week. Wow.
We camped in our tent the whole time in the front yard. Fortunately there was a portable john outside for us. We would have stayed longer, but John O. rented out our camping spot.
