Stayed at the Northern Lights Motor Inn in Vanderhoof. Won't do that again. Travel Day. Left Vanderhoof at 10am to drive to Bowron Lakes.
Stopped in Quesnel for supplies. Went into a coffee shop that looked like it was right out of Kitsilano. Had lunch on the way to Bowron Lakesin a demonstration forest.
Arrived Bowron Lake Provincial Park. This is the starting and ending point for the Bowron Lakes canoe circuit. There was no water in the provincial park and no beach! So, we went to the private campground right on the lake: Bowron Lake Campground. Nice place and didn't cost that much more than the provincial park would have.

The canoe circuit is quite famous and is booked about a year in advance. Only a certain number are allowed each day and they weigh each persons gear so the portages don't get damaged. |
