Lazy day. Didn't get out of the cabin until 12noon.
Went to north beach, north of Tow Hill and drove onto the beach. Colin and Olivia drove the car on the beach. Walked up the beach a bit as well.
Stopped at a bakery close by, between Rapid Richies and Tow Hill. Great coffee and cinnamon buns. Loud obnoxious patrons talking about how the love to come to the Queen Charlottes (and talk loud).
Drove to the Tlell fall fair 'The first fall fair in the province'. Got there just in time to see the end of Fred Penner's set. Bought a Fred CD and Fred met Olivia and signed it for her.
Bought salmon burgers from the packaging plant behind the grocery store in Masset. They were great! The plant packages fish for travel for tourist fisherman, but they sell fish as well.

After having the salmon burgers, we liked them so much we went back for them a few more times. Now back in Vancouver, we routinely have salmon burgers for supper, but we have to make them ourselves. |
